Covid-19 Level 3

Under Covid-19 Level 3 restrictions we are able to supply orders for delivery as well as click and collect. We can also do courier delivery for longer distances. We will be following strict government guidelines for sanitisation and hygiene measures as well as contactless delivery.

As well as cheese, we have got a wide range of grocery items including Dutch goodies, Organics, Salamis, Crackers, Condiments and preserves. Plus a range of local and imported wines.

Most of the cheeses can be ordered online but there are just too many items for us to list everything else.

Our History

The Kaiwaka Cheese Shop is located on State Highway 1, just 20 kms north of wellsford and has been a landmark on the route north from Auckland for a number of years.

The shop was founded in 1989 by Art & Maria who owned the nearby cheese factory. Originating from Holland, it was natural for A&M to start selling Dutch foods and so the shop grew. In time becoming one of a group of six franchises specialising in Dutch cheese and groceries.

Nowadays, the shop is independently owned and operated and stocks a wide range of cheeses from around New Zealand, Holland, France and Switzerland. Gouda is still the mainstay of the cheese range but with over fifty different cheeses to choose from, there is something to suit every tase.

We also stock a range of product from Sid's Sauce in New Plymouth including Raspberry Vinegar, Plum Sauce and Smokey Garlic Sauce.
